a. MCO Wage Increases From the Mayor’s Office
Mayor London Breed released her proposed budget for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 fiscal year on June 1st, 2021. The Mayor appropriated $38.2 million to continue the 3% one-time cost-doing-business increase for city-funded nonprofit organizations that was previously appropriated by the Board of Supervisors for the 2020-2021 fiscal year. b. Support the Heroes Act
The CARES Act which was passed down to help out those who were impacted by COVID-19. However, individuals such as Dreamers, sex workers, people without Social Security Cards, and undocumented immigrants have been left out. The Heroes Act was introduced to give extended health insurance, unemployment insurance, and much more. If passed, the Heroes Act could extend to reach out to undocumented immigrants and other vulnerable communities. (Read more)
